2019 Md. Media State Poll (Week 2)
St. Frances had a shot at becoming the first Maryland school to hold a football national No. 1 ranking on Saturday. By halftime, Saturday night, that dream was crushed.
St. Frances saw its 26-game win streak stopped by current national No. 1-ranked Mater Dei (Calif.) in a national No. 1 vs. No. 2 showdown in California. Despite the setback, St. Frances remains a unanimous No. 1 team in Maryland.
Interestingly, the only losses by current Maryland Top 5 teams are at the hands of California state powers — Mater Dei and St. John Bosco.
In the state Top 25 this week, McDonogh jumps to No. 9 after a 35-point win over No. 13-ranked Franklin, the defending 3A state champion. All 25 teams from last week remain in the Top 25 this week.
Now on with the Top 25 …
