2022 Md. Media State Poll (Week 9)
It’s Showdown Week in Maryland.
In advance of all of these teams making their league playoffs, No. 2 Good Counsel and No. 3 DeMatha clash this week in a WCAC contest, and No. 4 Archbishop Spalding takes on No. 6 Mount St. Joseph. While the outcomes will settle regular season league titles they likely will be teasers for playoff rematches in a couple of weeks.
Around the rest of the state, the MPSSAA playoffs begin and many of the Top 25-ranked public schools received first-round byes. In fact, only seven MPSSAA Top 25-ranked schools will be playing this week.
Not only was there no change at the top of the rankings, but the spots 1-12 were also unanimous choices — in that order — by the voters. St. Frances remains No. 1 and figures to have that spot locked up with just a few games remaining.
