Order Restored: St. Frances edges back to No. 1; Churchill, Bullis return to the Top 25
After a week out of the top spot, St. Frances is back at No. 1 in the Media State Poll -- just barely.
St. Frances collected six of 10 first-place votes to edge DeMatha for the top spot. DeMatha held No. 1 last week following St. Frances' second straight loss. However, DeMatha then lost to St. John's (D.C.), handing the reins back to St. Frances as these powers remain in the 1-2 spots.
Losses by McDonogh, Calvert Hall, Good Counsel, and St. Mary's led to additional movement in the rankings.
Quince Orchard, 8-0 with only six points allowed this year, moves to No. 4, just behind Archbishop Spalding. Oakdale leaps from No. 7 to No. 5.
Winston Churchill and Bullis School, both early season members of the Top 25, are back in the rankings. Churchill checks in at No. 24, followed by Bullis at No. 25. Bullis faces undefeated Episcopal (Va.) this week in a game that likely will settle the IAC title.
